Blog Round-Up: Carboholic

I’ve been cutting back on sugar and carbs lately to reduce some of the post-holiday puff.  Which means, of course, that I’m totally craving a bread-cupcake-pizza-muffin-bagel-donut. Yum. Instead of carbo-loading, though, I’ve been virtually splurging by drooling over these awesome recent recipes around the blogosphere. Go ahead, indulge!

Chocolate Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Cupcakes from 52 Cupcakes:

I’m a fan of the recent bake-something-tasty-inside-something-else-tasty trend. And I love the marriage of chocolate and peanut butter. Which means I pretty much want to jab my hand through my computer screen to get at these deliciously rich looking cupcakes.

Pear and Almond Frangipane Tarts from Tartelette:

These carbs are all dressed up and elegant, which makes me want them even more. Tartelette always has gorgeous photos and this pear and almond frangipane tart looks more than beautiful enough to eat, computer monitor and all.

Whole Wheat Chocolate Chip Skillet Cookies from 101 Cookbooks:

You can whole wheat it up with these chocolate chip cookies and pretend they’re a little healthier, but deep down they’re still deliciously carbo-riffic. And I want them. With an ice cold glass of milk. ASAP.

Crispy Fried Goat Cheese from The Hungry Mouse:

Have I told you lately about how much I love cheese? Particularly rolled in Panko and fried? Because that makes it healthier. Amazing. I want this. I’d even be willing to put it on top of a mixed green salad.

Meatball Subs with Caramelized Onions from Smitten Kitchen:

Look at those saucy meatballs. Don’t they look good? They’re nothing compared to that delicious French roll, though. Bread, glorious bread, how I miss thee.

What recipes have you drooling lately? What’s your favorite indulgence?
