I need to record this now, so that I don’t forget when it happened and then get all confused in later months (like I did with my winter garden). I planted three different tomato plants on May 1st, all heirloom varieties cultivated by horticulture students at a local community college (hope they were A students). I planted “Polish” tomatoes, which are supposed to be big and red and juicy, “Green Zebra”, which are green stripey ones, and “Big Rainbow”, which will be orangish with red and yellow stripes, I believe. I’m excited for my tomatoes and am already having visions of homemade bruschetta with big hunks of colorful, tasty tomatoes. Mmm.
